Abstract:
To evaluate the output-intrinsic safety performance of Boost converter, considering its non-explosive output-intrinsic safety criterion and the minimum ignition voltage curve, an output-intrinsic safety performance evaluating system of Boost converter based on Matlab is established. The Simulink module in Matlab is used to set up the evaluated Boost converter circuit. The key operating parameters of the converter are extracted by the callback function. The maximum output short-circuit spark discharging energy is obtained. The equivalent-capacitance of the equivalent simple-capacitive-circuit is obtained by using the energy equivalence principle. The output-intrinsic safety performance of Boost converter can be evaluated through comparing the equivalent-capacitance with the critical capacitance. Also the extracted parameters and the evaluated results can be shown in GUI.The output-intrinsic safety performance of two typical Boost converters is evaluated using the established evaluation system and the explosive test based on the safety spark test apparatus. The results are positive to the analysis showing the feasibility of the established evaluation system.
